Technique that provides alternative solutions to special or deep foundations for structures in terrains with complex conditions.
Accompanied by our group’s sister company, Menard, world leader in this specialty, we have the design capacity and state-of-the-art equipment and expertise to execute projects with a high level of efficiency and effectiveness. We provide optimized solutions adapted to the specific conditions of each project entrusted to us.
- Controlled Modulus Columns (CMC’s): reduce the global deformability of the soil by incorporating rigid inclusions uniformly distributed. Constructed inclusions are not structural elements; however, they take almost all the vertical loads at surface level and transmit them to the deeper competent strata.
- Stone Columns: incorporate granular material into the soil, in a controlled manner, compacting it using a vibrator in order to form non-rigid inclusions, which have competent mechanical properties and a high drainage capacity. This technique makes it possible to reduce total and differential settlements due to a homogenization in the soil mass.
- Soil Mixing: the technique consists of mechanically in situ mixing the existing soil with cement to make a cementitious homogenous mixture using augers or special tools.
- Wick Drains: used in poorly permeable soils to facilitate the dissipation of the interstitial pressures in the ground, thus increasing the consolidation speed. The installation of wick drains must be combined with a temporary overload to achieve a partial or total primary consolidation.
- Dynamic Compaction: a technique whose purpose is to improve the terrain´s mechanical properties through the effect of high energy impacts caused by dropping weights from 10 to 35 t (commonly). It can be used in all granular terrains and is used in both unsaturated terrains and terrains under the water table.
- Jet Grouting: consists of deconstructing a terrain with the help of a high-pressure jet, by mixing in a borehole the eroded soil with a grout to form columns on the ground. The technique can be applied in all soft terrains, mainly as reinforcement, and in certain conditions as a sealing treatment.
